Finding Talent

Source Profiles

Search for people who match a role and add them to a talent pool.

Source Profiles searches for people who have not applied to you. It takes two steps, Search profiles and Confirm & enrich. The people you pick are added as members to a talent pool: the one you started from, or the one you pick at the end.

An application arrives when someone applies. Sourcing works the other way round: you search for people who match a role and add the ones you find. It is how a role that is not attracting applicants still gets profiles.

Relations

  • Talent Pool: where the people you add end up. You start from one, or pick one when you add the people you found.
  • Job opening: the talent pool's job opening, if it has one. It seeds the search filters, and the credits you spend are booked against it.
  • Contact: the person each member is.
  • AI assessment: scores the people you added against the job opening's criteria, on a talent pool with a job opening.
  • Credits: searching and enriching spend credits, not the balance that pays for campaigns.

To search straight away, select Source in the navigation. The filters start blank and nobody is left out of the results. When you add the people you picked, you choose the talent pool they go into, or create one.

The credits you spend on these searches are booked against the talent pool you add the people to, and through it against its job opening. If you add nobody within a day of your last search, the credits stay unbooked.

To source people for one talent pool, start from that talent pool. Its members are left out of the results.

  1. Open Talent Pools and open the talent pool.
  2. Select Source Profiles in its header.

To start from a role instead, open the job opening and select Source in its header. Source Profiles opens with the filters taken from that job. When you add the people you picked, you choose one of the job's talent pools, or create one for the job.

Source in the navigation is only there for admins and owners.

On a talent pool with a job opening, the search filters start from that job. On a talent pool without one, they start blank.

People who are already a member of the talent pool are left out of the results, and you are not charged for them.

Sourcing with the agent

The search screen opens with the agent in the middle, between the Filters and Location panels. The agent runs the search from a description and adds the people it finds to the talent pool.

To source profiles by describing them, use the agent.

  1. Open the talent pool and select Source Profiles.
  2. Describe who you are looking for in Describe the profiles to source..., such as the role, the experience and where they should be based.
  3. Send the message. The agent starts, translates your description into the search filters and the location, and searches the pool.
  4. Confirm when it asks before it spends credits, on the search or on enrichment.
  5. Read the profiles it reports back, and refine the search in the same chat.

The people it adds appear as members of the talent pool, like ones added through the form.

Once the chat starts, the Filters and Location panels fold away and the chat fills the screen. Select New chat under the message box to go back to the panels.

The chat is kept when you search yourself. Select the reset icon beside Search to bring the agent back.

Searching the pool

To find people who match the role, set the filters and search.

  1. Set the filters in the Filters panel on the left.
  2. Set the Country in the Location panel on the right. Add a Region and City to narrow it down.
  3. Select Search.

The agent in the middle makes way for the list of matches.

A search needs a country and at least one filter from the Filters panel. Until then Search is greyed out. Point at it to see what is missing.
Both side panels can be closed with the arrow in their header. A closed panel leaves a small tab on its edge. Select the tab to bring the panel back. When the window is too narrow for all three panels, the Location panel and then the Filters panel fold away behind their tabs by themselves, and the tab opens them as a drawer over the profiles.
Select the reset icon beside Search to clear every filter and the results at once. The agent returns to the middle.
Searching costs credits per profile found, and the cost is shown on the Search button. A search that fails costs nothing. Hover over the button to see what one profile costs, or whether you have too few credits to search.

Profile filters

  • Search — profile names. Words match in any order.
  • Job titles — job titles on the profile.
  • Keywords — words that appear anywhere in the profile.
  • Roles — the type of work, whatever the exact job title.
  • Skills — skills on the profile.

Experience filters

  • Seniority — Student/Trainee, Entry level/Junior, Medior, Senior, Manager, Director or Executive.
  • Years of experience — a Min and a Max of total work experience.
  • Salary — the expected salary range.
  • Companies — the employer or industry they work in.

Education filters

  • Minimum education — the lowest education level on the profile, from Highschool diploma through to Doctorate / Post-Doctorate.
  • Schools attended — schools on the profile.
  • Graduation year — a From and an Until.

Signal filters

  • Transition — likelihood of changing employer.
  • Quality — quality of experience.
  • Telecommute — ability to work remotely.

Each runs Very low, Low, Medium, High, Very high.

Filter switches

Several filters have a switch that changes how they are applied.

  • Current position, Past positions or Current or past — on Job titles, Roles, Seniority and Companies.
  • Match any or Match all — on Keywords, Skills and Schools attended.
Some filters depend on each other. The panel says Minimum years of experience cannot exceed the maximum, Earliest graduation year cannot be after the latest, or Pick a region for the area you are searching in.

Reviewing the results

To pick the people you want, go through the Profiles panel.

  1. Tick the profiles you want.
  2. Select Load more to fetch further matches.
  3. Select Next.

The bar at the bottom of the panel counts what you picked. Select Clear to start the shortlist again.

Before you search, the panel reads Search for profiles. A search with no matches reads No profiles found and suggests broadening your filters.
Load more costs credits like the first search. When there are no more results the panel reads End of preview or All matching profiles shown.

Enriching before adding

To get the email or phone of someone you are adding, buy it along with them. On Confirm your selection, the list has an Email and a Phone column. A row with no known value shows Enrich in that column.

  1. Select Enrich on the row, in the column you want. It turns into a check.
  2. Repeat for each profile you want the detail for.

Select Enrich All Emails or Enrich All Phones to pick every row that has no value yet. Both show the total cost before you confirm.

Each Enrich shows what that one detail costs. The buttons for all rows show the total, and the button that adds the profiles shows the cost of everything you selected.

Adding the profiles

To add the people you picked to the talent pool, add them.

  1. On Confirm your selection, check the list.
  2. Select the remove icon on any row you changed your mind about.
  3. Select Add for the profiles listed.

The talent pool opens, and the people now appear in it as members.

If you picked any enrichment, the button reads Add & Enrich and shows the enrichment cost beside it.
Each person you add becomes a member of the talent pool. On a talent pool with a job opening, they are scored against its assessment criteria. To move one into the pipeline afterwards, convert them.
