Getting Started

Creating a Company

Create your company in Applyfin, fill in the company profile and set the billing details invoices are raised against.

A company is what everything in Applyfin belongs to. Every job opening, application, inbox and invoice sits under one company, and the people you work with are its users. Creating it is the first thing an administrator does.

This page covers the company itself: the profile visitors read and the billing details that go on your invoices. Departments, locations and users are set up afterwards, under Departments and Locations, and the users who work in it are added under Users.

Requirements

  • Admin role — company settings can only be saved by an Owner or an Admin.
  • Billing details — legal name, VAT ID and Chamber of Commerce number. Not needed to create the company, but needed before your first order.

Setup order

  1. The company itself — created once, in a wizard of three steps.
  2. Company profile — the name, logo, contact details and description visitors read.
  3. Billing details — what goes on your invoices.
  4. Departments — the defaults and stages every job opening inherits. Every job opening created in a department takes over its settings, so set them up carefully.
  5. Locations — the places you hire in.
  6. Users — the people who work in Applyfin, and the departments, locations and inboxes each of them is assigned to.

Departments and locations come before the invitations, so a new user can be assigned to the right ones as soon as they join.

Creating the company

To get a workspace of your own, create the company.

Your first job opening is free to publish and comes with your first 500 applications. Applyfin also publishes it to 35+ free job boards, which link to it on the domain you pick. The wizard reminds you of both, beside Company Info and beside Domain.
  1. Select the company switcher at the top of the sidebar and select Create a company.
  2. On Company Info, fill in the Name, the Website and the LinkedIn Company Page.
  3. Set the Timezone and the Currency.
  4. Select Next.
  5. On About, upload a Logo, pick the Industry and write the About text.
  6. Select Next.
  7. On Domain, pick your domain, such as yourcompany.directapply.work. Jobboards link to your jobs on this domain, and it hosts the page with your apply form. Applyfin suggests a name from the company name; letters, digits and hyphens are allowed, and names are first come, first served. You can always switch to a domain of your own later.
  8. Accept the terms and conditions, data processing agreement and privacy policy.
  9. Select Create.

Applyfin builds the company workspace, and the progress bar follows along: creating the workspace, setting up its database, adding the default content and setting up your account. It reads All done! when the company is ready and takes you to its dashboards. Leaving the page does not stop the build; open the same page again to pick the wait back up.

Everything on the wizard can be changed afterwards, under Settings > General. The contact email and phone, and the billing details, are not asked for in the wizard; fill them in afterwards, as described below.
The domain is live as soon as the company is ready, so the first publish works right away. To use a domain of your own instead, add it under Career Page > Domains; see Setting up your domains.

Filling in the profile

The company profile is what visitors read about you. It also sets the timezone and currency Applyfin uses everywhere.

To set what visitors read about your company, fill in its profile.

  1. Open Settings and select General.
  2. Fill in your Name, Website, LinkedIn Company Page, Contact Email and Contact Phone.
  3. Set your Timezone and Currency.
  4. Fill in your Industry and About.
  5. Save the profile.

The company name and description now appear on your career page and on the job openings visitors read.

Applyfin shows every date in the Timezone and every price in the Currency you set here.

Adding billing details

Billing details are separate from the company profile. They are what appears on your invoices.

To have your invoices carry the right legal details, fill them in before your first order.

  1. Open Settings > Billing.
  2. Fill in the Legal Name and the billing Email.
  3. Fill in the Address, Zip Code, City, Country and Region.
  4. Fill in your Chamber of Commerce number and VAT ID.
  5. Save the details.

Invoices now carry these details and are sent to the billing Email.

What you are charged and how you pay is covered under Billing & Balance.
